MiMW medical writers are scheduled to meet together twice a week at 8am EST every Wednesday and Sunday by webinar, Skype and telephone.
We will keep this time for Wednesday or Thursday every week, and Saturday or Sunday every week, depending on availability of the MiMW medical writers.
We used to have an editorial meeting once a week on Monday nights from 9 to 11pm EST, but that is clearly unworkable. One problem is that part of putting together a program and places for our medical writers to publish (MJoTA and NYEcho newspaper) is that I am often out in the evening photographing events and talking with community and national and international leaders. I am always available on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8am to 9am, and during the week, from 7 to 8am. I would love again to have an editorial meeting for 2 hours once a week; but it probably would not be on the same day every week, and would run from 7 to 9am EST. Let me know if this works for you. What we do is look at articles for publication (I have a backlog of 10 to 20), and we go through and edit one with our MJoTA Style Guide. It may be an article written by one of the medical writers on the webinar.
The biweekly meetings are to give short webinars and get you all networking. Writing is a lonely task, and working as a MJoTA medical writer can be lonely unless we talk to each other.
