Workshop
Where and how can you advertise your services.
1. Go to Monster.com, fill out your information (do it properly, it can easily take about 3 hours) and make it visible for searches. You can leave your name anonymous if you need to.
2. Go back to Linkedin and update your profile. By now you will have a better idea of what services you can offer. Make it informative and user friendly. Include all your published articles, and a link to your personal website.
3. Post your profile on social networking sites (Facebook, Linkedin, all of them). Be aware that you are looking for jobs and contracts. Always be professional, even when you are being casual. Dont post anything online ever that makes you look like an idiot, or unprofessional. Your picture: you are part of the pharmaceutical industry, which is extremely conservative. Wear business dress, with a jacket.
4. Paid advertising to a targetted audience: consider paying for a 100-word advertisement on the AMWA site. When I first started offering myself as freelance, I spent $100 and posted my ad. I had a single response, and that response turned into $30,000. I got better at posting ads after that, and most of my jobs came through these ads,
