Looking for Macharia? He lives in Minnesota with Wanjiku Betty Macharia Waruingi (she took him back! wow!) at 2240 Plymouth RD Apt 206, Minnetonka, Minnesota, 55305-2349. At least that is according to a slanderous, libelous complaint Macharia Waruingi filed with the 4th Judicial District in the State of Minnesota. According to that document, Betty Macharia is his wife.

What he did was paid $320 to the state, asked for a restraining order against me without telling me, gave a fictitious account of how I am pursuing him, calling him, stalking him and showing up to events to which I was specifically contacted about not coming to.

These following statements are statements of fact. Macharia Waruingi lived at 762 Redman Avenue, Haddonfield New Jersey in my house from 29 Mar (the first day I met him) until 14 November 2008. He was never an employee. He kept asking for loans of money from me so that we could build Ustawi together.

Can anyone really be a malaria expert when they lie about working as a physician in Harvard? He is a trained physician, but is not licensed in the United States.

I asked Macharia to leave my house when I discovered that he lied about everything that was needed to build a company, that he was stealing from me and sending money plus letters of declaration of love to 2 able-bodied, graduate-degreed women listed as KDNC officials, that he was using my credit card to buy lunch for colleagues and told them it was a "KDNC credit card".

Since he left he has shown more of the same tendency, (demanding money, that is), I have a letter from him demanding $80,000, and another demand letter on his behalf from Mr Japheth Matemu (who is the first Kenyan lawyer admitted to the Supreme Court) demanding $1billion. After I called and spoke with Mr Matemu, I never heard from him again.

Macharia has now been demanding money from and threatening volunteers who work on MJoTA.

Update 2015: Richard Macharia Waruingi married Wanjiku Betty Macharia on Sep 04, 2009 in Hennepin, Minnesota. Wanjiku is listed in social media as being an accountant, working in Missouri and having an MBA and a DHA from Univ Phoenix. In documents filed by the State of Wisconsin vs Waruingi in 2013, he was accused of speeding, Macharia was listed as living at 4186 Pepperwood Trl Minnetonka, MN 55305.)

Now I wish I had liquidated everything before the financial collapse swallowed it, hired professionals, fixed my bathroom, fixed my side room, fixed my garage, and flown to South Africa and Cote D'Ivoire. Well, at MJoTA we are doing the best we can, and looking forward to Macharia calling and thanking us for 7 months of all-expenses paid living in New Jersey, explaining that the unauthorized expenses were an oversight and will be repaid, and explaining a plan for paying my daughter's college expenses from September 2012. Macharia, I have an invoice for you to pay.

The conference you can link to below is a moveable feast. In April 2008, it was planned for May 2009 in Philadelphia. During October and November 2008, Deidre worked long hours when it was planned for 07-11 October 2009 at Philadelphia Convention Center. In December 2008 and January 2009, it was planned for 21-26 March 2010 in Bethlehem (Pennsylvania, or was it Israel).

On 25 January 2009 we are pleased to announce the Ustawi Conference has moved a 4th time: it is now to be held in Florida, and Ustawi and MJoTA will be there. If it is in Florida (and we are holding our breath while we wait to see if the venue and time change again). And they drop the price, at least for us (Macharia, please give us a break, none of your KDNC "conferences' cost more than $50).

So, you can either blow $1300 (for registration only, actually, you can pay a lot more, when you click on the link you can see $1300 only gets you into the conference, if you want to learn anything you have to pay more) going to a 5-day conference in a swamp near Disney World with some close Kenyan friends (nothing wrong with swamps or Mickey Mouse, and we love Kenyans, especially you Macharia, and heck, our President is a son of Kenya! Allelujah!) or you can save your money and come visit us in Philadelphia at our 2nd MJoTA Conference (we would love you to come Macharia) and try to figure out what hand we can give and to whom to get the pan-Africa indigenous pharmaceutical industry truly on its feet.

21 February: nope, wrong again. The conference registration is $1,950. Plus you have to pay $330 for 3 workshops.

22 February: The organizers have told me categorically that their events are private, and MJoTA is not invited. Private. Gosh. So you had better be a good friend for the privilege of getting to pay for registration over $2,000 and get to not see MJoTA. God bless them. I wonder if the souls who paid the deposit on the conference hotel are eligible for foreclosure help: cost about the same as a down payment on a house.
